Facet Syndrome

Facet syndrome is an an array of different symptoms caused as a direct result of facet irritation which can occur through a multitude of different mechanisms. Facet syndrome can affect any region of the spine whether it be the neck, the mid-part of the back, or the lower back. When the facet joints are irritated or inflamed, pain results and occasionally will cause pain to appear in nearby regions. For example with facet syndrome that occurs in the neck, many times there will be pain at the neck itself as well as pain into the upper shoulders and upper part of the back.
